Volleyball
Co-ed 7th grade through Adults
No cost – (no shirts ordered for this sport)
Games played Thursdays at 7 p.m.
First game -September 9
Can sign up as teams or individuals
Children’s Basketball
for ages 5 years old through 6th grade
Cost: $25 due with registration form by September 15!
(registrations/fees after due date will delay child’s shirt order)
Games start October 16. Games played Saturday mornings.
Practices will start the week of September 20 on Monday or Tuesday nights.
To register for one or both of the above please click on registration form to register. At this time we are unable to accept payment online, therefore your registration fee can either be mailed to Parkland (7206 Shepherdsville Road, 40219) or dropped off at the church office.
The Purpose of the Recreation Ministry
“Physical training is of some value…” – 1 Timothy 4:8
Exercise isn’t everything, but it is something. We each have the scriptural command to take care of our body, for it is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:9). The rest of the verse quoted above (1 Timothy 4:8) says “but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” The Recreation Ministry of Parkland Baptist Church, therefore, has these basic purposes:
- To provide believers with opportunities to care for their bodies.
- To provide believers with opportunities to practice godly behaviors such as encouragement, fellowship, etc.
- To provide our community with a point of contact with our church, so that we might share Christ’s love with them.
